Description
The BMW M2 Competition is one of BMW M Division’s most highly regarded modern performance cars. Unlike the original M2’s N55 engine, the Competition received the formidable S55 3.0-litre BiTurbo straight-six, derived from the contemporary M3 and M4. Producing 410 PS and 550 Nm of torque, power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through BMW’s rapid 7-speed M Double-Clutch Transmission (DCT). Performance is exceptional, reaching 0–62 mph in just 4.2 seconds with an electronically limited 155 mph top speed. More than simply a more powerful M2, the Competition features genuine BMW M engineering throughout, including Active M Differential, M-specific suspension, additional chassis bracing, M Servotronic steering, M Dynamic Mode and M compound brakes. The electronically controlled Active M Differential varies rear-axle locking to maximise traction and provide the engaging rear-wheel-drive character expected from an M car. Visually, the Competition is distinguished by its wider M wheel arches, enlarged front air intakes, Competition kidney grilles, quad M exhaust outlets, rear diffuser, M mirrors, Shadowline styling and 19-inch M alloy wheels. Inside, the driver-focused cabin features M Sport seats with illuminated M2 logos, M leather steering wheel, DCT selector, shift paddles, M-specific instrumentation, M1 & M2 buttons, Head-Up display and Harman Kardon.
